Description
Stained glass has always been a powerful inspiration for me. The ancient method of telling a story through bits of carefully placed glass is simply stunning. Although my images are not actual stained glass they are fashioned with glass and color in mind.

Also inspired by the spectacular and vivid colors of the desert here in Tucson, Arizona, I wanted to do something that reflects some of the things I encounter. Of course, the saguaro helps some, too. Many times while hiking in Sabino Canyon I see a dove or two perched atop these gigantic cactus feeding on the fruit or bugs; it is always a magnificent sight. The saguaro cactus, which can only be found in the Sonora desert, starts to bud in April and fruits by late June and July. It is not unusual to see the bud, blossoms, and fruit all together as shown here, simply stunning to see the bright red and sparkling white against the many hues of green.
