Description
Wild Jellyfish was created in the alla prima style of oil painting, which facilitated this blurred, underwater sense of movement. Inspired by the gracefulness and fluidity of jellyfish I wanted to do something more direct and playful with immediacy in mind. Bright blue also inspired me as I pushed further with additional simple color details, although not necessarily natural in this context. The piece got a bit wild as I was having so much fun just playing with the textures and movement of the various colors and forms. Although a bit unconventional when it comes to jellyfish I find it fun and somewhat soothing in its own way.
