Description
Trees In Spring has more to do with color, texture and form rather than the subject itself. Although I tried to work with a nature setting that is distinguishable I was more interested with the play of color and application. I found that a strong underpainting with complementary colors really pushes the images and makes them vibrate. I also tried to do this piece alla prima. Talk about challenge! A fun one to be sure. I plan on doing more using this technique so please check back from time to time to see what is new. Beautiful painting of this spring coming to life scene. You have such command of your brush strokes, they have a beauty of their own. Your color palette is gorgeous in this piece. Love the blue of the sky.

Oh wow! I understand what you mean about making your colors vibrate by using an underpainting of complimentary colors. I sometimes, play with that, myself. You have done a fabulous job of it for this painting. It does sing and it is singing happily out loud in a beautiful voice. Nice technique. Thank you for your comments on my site. f/v
