This is a simple study of abstraction inspired by a piece by the Swiss artist Paul Klee. In an attempt to broaden my experience of creating artwork I have jumped into creating a few pieces in this direction. Using the theme of masks and faces as a starting point I hope to gain a more expressive understanding of painting and creating. Color and application and how they work off each other help to define the narrative in this piece. Why chartreuse? I keep coming back to this color. All I can say is that it is a color I consistently and naturally gravitate towards. Perhaps I need to do a psychological study of color to come up with a proper answer. For now it just works for me. Thanks for stopping by! I am an illustrator, designer, artist. Yes, I know, pick one! A difficult thing to do when the energy to explore takes hold. Along with the more decorative designs I create, using a variety of computer programs, I also like to explore more traditional, and abstract artwork, using mediums like oil, acrylic, gouache, and pastel.
