Artist's Description
Contemplating the Sun is a simple study of abstraction focusing on the subject of a face, or more likely a mask. It is a very approachable subject that provides an instant connection and relation for a viewer, drawing from it a narrative easily imagined. Primitive styling, strong geometric elements with bright color and texture help create this unique narrative that captivates. Living here in the desert southwest I am constantly reminded of the history of this rugged territory. Ah yes, the sun! Who does not think of the sun when hearing or talking about the desert? Bringing these two ideas together makes for a powerful visual that will keep a viewer coming back time and again hoping to glean some truth about life and our history. Currently I am in the process of creating more images with this theme so please check back from time to time to see what is new! About Randy Wollenmann
Thanks for stopping by! I am an illustrator, designer, artist. Yes, I know, pick one! A difficult thing to do when the energy to explore takes hold. The combination of these two approaches helps in the creation of many of my more inventive images. My studio is dedicated to working with clients in creating unique and specific images that fit their particular projects. For over 30 years I have been developing images for editorial and product use. If you have a particular project in mind, or would like to incorporate some of my images into...
